2400CY Dump Scow

TSGI was hired by AGM Marine Contractors, Inc. to develop the design for a 1500-2000CY Dump Scow. The Scow was to be classed with the American Bureau of Shipping for Ocean Service with Load Line, Class A-1 Maltese Cross. The split hull hopper barge is hinged at the main deck and capable of opening and closing by utilizing two 24” diameter hydraulic rams powered by a hydraulic power unit located in the aft machinery house protected from the elements. The contract design package included all structural arrangement drawings, preliminary strength and stability calculation reports, weld schedules, deck outfitting, hydraulic schematics, etc. TSGI was also involved in construction surveys and oversight on behalf of AGM and assisted with launch, sea trials, and deadweight surveys.
